Spider Chain Lakes — Selling Your Lake Property in Hayward, Wisconsin

Spider Chain isn’t the kind of lake you discover. It’s the kind you inherit — and spend a lifetime fishing.

If you own property on the Spider Chain — Big Spider, North Lake, Fawn Lake, Clear Lake — you didn’t choose it because it was the loudest lake on the map. You chose it because it was quiet. Because the water was clear. Because you could hear the loons at night and not much else.

That’s not an accident. That’s a decision. And it says something about who you are and what this place means to your family.

If you’re starting to think about what comes next for this property — this page is for you.

What the Market Looks Like Right Now

Spider Chain properties currently range from the mid $400s to over $1.4 million depending on frontage, position on the chain, and condition. The chain spans over 1,400 acres across five connected lakes, with special boating regulations that keep it quiet — and keep the right kind of buyer coming back.

What your specific property is worth takes a conversation, not a calculator. Every lot, every cabin, every family situation is different.

Who This Page Is For

When the kids stop coming up.

It was third generation when it was really humming. Now the grandkids have their own summers, their own lives, their own directions. The place still means something — but it sits more than it used to. You’re not ready to admit it’s time, but you’re starting to wonder. That’s enough to start a conversation.

A lot of house. A lot of yard.

You built this place to raise a family, and you did exactly that. Now it’s just the two of you — or just you — and the maintenance is more than the enjoyment. The dock still needs to go in. The roof has been on your list. You love this place, but you’re honest enough to know what it takes to keep it right. And it’s a lot.

The right next chapter.

You’ve loved this place well. The memories are real and they’re yours — nobody can take those. But somewhere in the last year or two, you’ve started imagining what it would feel like to let someone else begin their story here. Not because anything went wrong. Because something went right, and it ran its full course. That’s not loss. That’s legacy.

Every place like this has a story. I’d like to hear yours.

Fill out the form below. Tell me what you’re thinking, what you’re feeling, or just where you are in the process. I’ll be in touch by phone — usually the next morning.

Who I Am

I’m Yancy Perkins, a real estate agent with Pine Point Real Estate in Hayward, Wisconsin. I specialize in lake properties, hunting land, and wilderness retreats across Sawyer, Bayfield, and Washburn Counties.

My family’s roots in Wisconsin run to the late 1700s — I’m a seventh-generation Wisconsinite raising the eighth generation on these same waters. I spent twenty years in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where I became a luxury real estate agent and found my way into fly fishing and bird hunting. The mountains, the rivers, the backcountry — it all shaped how I see land. Not as inventory. As something to be loved, stewarded, and passed forward. Coming back to Wisconsin wasn’t a career move. It was a homecoming.

I don’t work every lake in Wisconsin. I work this zone — Spider Chain, Lost Land, Teal, Ghost, and the quiet lakes around Hayward that draw the kind of people who came here for the nature, not the noise.

If that’s you, I’d like to hear your story.
